Your email provider says more about you than your zodiac sign. Here’s a light-hearted look at what your email provider might suggest about your personality:

  1. aol.com – You might have a soft spot for nostalgia, perhaps keeping a collection of VHS tapes next to your rotary phone. Your motto could be “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” even if ‘it’ is a dial-up modem tone you still find oddly comforting.
  2. yahoo.com – You’re likely the type who is loyal and steadfast, sticking with Yahoo through thick and thin. You probably also have a toolbar on your browser that you never use but refuse to remove, just in case.
  3. hotmail.com – A trailblazer who now prefers the simpler things in life, you were on the internet before Google was a verb and have the Hotmail account to prove it. You also might be the person who forwards chain emails warning people about that new computer virus from 2007.
  4. Mac – You’re the stylish one in the group, always a bit ahead of the curve when it comes to tech. Your email address is like a vintage piece of tech fashion that you wear with pride. You likely have a collection of Apple products dating back to the first iPod, and your idea of a fun night might involve reminiscing about the good old days of iWeb and MobileMe.
  5. Org – You’re probably community-oriented and mission-driven, possibly working for a non-profit or a charity. Your email inbox is filled with newsletters on social causes, volunteer opportunities, and calls to action. You are likely to be the person who educates friends about global issues during dinner conversations, passionately advocating for change.
  6. gmail.com – You might be a bit more tech-savvy, embracing change and innovation. However, there’s a good chance your email is inundated with promotional tabs you never check but swear you’ll sort through someday.
  7. Edu email – If you’re still hanging onto your university email, you either haven’t graduated yet, or you’re clinging to the glory days of college discounts and academic journal access.
  8. IO – There’s no point in having the IO email domain unless your name is Eee.I@Eee.IO. Hey, I want an Old McDonald’s Farm email address.
  9. ME – Similar to IO, I wish I had the Doe@Ray.Me email before someone else grabbed it.
  10. Company email – Professional and polished, you mean business. You likely use phrases like “circle back” and “touch base” outside of work too, much to the confusion of your friends and family.
  11. Custom domain – You either own a business or are very serious about personal branding. Your email signature probably has a logo, or at least a stylish monogram.

Each of these email domains tells a little story, often with a pinch of humor and a dash of truth. What does your email say about you?
