What do you do for marketing bling? The most valuable swag I ever used was a can of WhoopAss. It was relevant to my Mr. Cranky brand at the time.

  1. It reflected the message that I would ask tough questions.
  2. CEOs, my target market, didn’t give it to their kids; they proudly kept it on their desk I still see it when I visit people today whom I gave the can to years ago.
  3. Most importantly, I have received calls from people who opted out of my service because they weren’t ready at the time, who called me many months – years later saying, I need a coach, and your name and number were on my desk (the can).

Before the Can of Whoopass, I would hand a keychain countdown clock reminding my clients that they only had so many minutes, hours, and days to accomplish their year-end goals before the new year.

Today, I use my book, which you can get here: https://a.co/d/0P0VCz9. Or you could become a client, and I’ll give you one… such a deal!

What do you use as giveaway bling to attract and thank customers? Make sure whatever you use:

  • Lasts long – pens run out of ink and get tossed
  • Isn’t consumable – and gone in a second, like candy
  • Is unique – everyone gives pens
  • Represents your brand – if you’re a penmanship consultant, then give pens
  • Is a keepsake – your target will keep it in their office and not give it to their kids as a toy

Last point… are you wasting money on silly giveaways? If a giveaway falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it still make a noise? Make a noise!
